Skeelz Cookie & Browser Storage Policy

The Skeelz web application uses an essential first-party session cookie (currently named “skeelz_web_session”) to keep a signed-in web session associated with the user. The reviewed architecture uses an HttpOnly cookie so ordinary page JavaScript cannot directly read the authentication cookie. The cookie is used for authentication, security, and core site functionality and is not an advertising cookie.

The website may use browser localStorage or sessionStorage for user-interface state, session hints, language/preferences, Smart Search continuity, and similar functionality. In the reviewed build, Smart Search-related browser storage can include a Smart Search session identifier, transcript/context, and the last search so that the experience can continue across navigation or reloads. This data may remain on the device until the Platform, user, or browser clears it. Users on shared devices should use Skeelz’s history-clear controls where available and may also clear site data through browser settings.

As of the Effective Date, Skeelz does not use the web Platform for third-party cross-site behavioural advertising and does not use browser storage to sell user profiles to advertisers. If Skeelz later introduces non-essential analytics, advertising, retargeting, or similar tracking technology, this Policy and any legally required consent mechanism should be updated before deployment.

Skeelz may use technical identifiers, server logs, rate-limit data, or similar security information to protect accounts, detect abuse, enforce session boundaries, and investigate fraud. These controls may operate independently of optional cookies.

Most browsers let users block or delete cookies and site storage. Blocking essential session storage may prevent sign-in or break core Platform functionality. Deleting local browser storage may remove locally stored Smart Search continuity or preferences but does not automatically delete server-side account data; use the account-deletion process for that purpose.

Skeelz may update this Policy if website storage practices change. Material introduction of non-essential tracking should be accompanied by any notice or consent required by applicable law.
